My 22 year old heat pump system has been replaced once (outdoor unit--$2g), and now two bids for repair/replacement of an outdoor compressor are at about $5.3g. What kind of ripoff is this? They won't replace the compressor, maintaining that the whole system has to be replaced. Some kind of government-mandated energy savings. What about savings to beleaguered homeowners, recently unemployed? Does the government ever take into account the citizens who shoulder the burden for their 'compassionate' ecological endeavours?
