Rising gas prices

Does the President's so-called "stimulus" plan allow the gas companies to start price gouging again?  In the last week prices in Michigan have risen more than 30 cents a gallon.  I don't recall getting a pay raise in the last ten years that would equal that increase.   Nobody got an increase in pay, but just a decrease in withholding.  Does the President think the citizens of the United States are a bunch of dumb country bumpkins who believe everything that the government says???     I don't think so.  Is something going to be done about the mess Obama is creating???

We have today to do the next right thing to insure a future we can live with.

I am not sure what your question is. Across the country all were amazed when after 5 years gasoline suddenly costs $1.69 a gallon. It was a last stab of the Bush administration to look good to the public, but too little too late. Does the president think the citizens are stupid and believe everything the government tells them? Not hardly!! And I believe that when Barack is done cleaning up the horrendous mess left by Bush, Cheny, and their board room buddies, all will see what a great choice was made in November.

I doubt it.  We'll have to wait and see what the American people in their wisdom will do in 2012.  Do you remember the peanut farmer?  Do you remember who replaced him?

You're mixing apples and oranges.  There is little relationship between the stimulus package and oil prices.  The stimulus package will raise taxes for most because of the cost--oil prices are related to the prices OPEC (a cartel) wants to charge and  the increase in extraction expense imposed upon the US oil companies because of the regulations on where to drill and how to drill.  Both of these subjects are complex and are being exacerbated by the Obama administration.

I may not be Mr. Know It All, but I knew him well and he taught me much.

Don't worry about it. Soon the governement will run the oil business just like they are taking over the car industry. You are in Michigan so you should see that happening. Here where I live, the largest and oldest Chevy dealer in town received one of those GM closure notices. Even though they are one of the top sellers in the nation, they are getting shut down. Wy? There's no logic in it and it's just the beginning of the takeover by the government. Obama is "going to clean up the mess left by Bush, Cheny, etc.." by buying out every failed industry and nationalizing them. If you think things are bad now, wait until we receive that little rationing gas coupon booklet that will be coming right around the corner. Then regardless of the price, you'll never have enough gas to do what a person needs to do to live. Then when we are down and out, the government will "help" us out by "providing" everything we need so we no longer have to work for it. The next step will be fitting us for our new national uniform and re-education camp.
