Richard Petrus Anderson born feb 12 1889 in Sweden västmanland parish.

Hello I am a swedish genealogist.

I wonder how I can search my old ancestor richard petrus anderson born february 12 1889 in Sweden ,västmanland parish. Rumors told that he immigrate to US (New York?) around 1915-1920. I have search for over two years, but I still can´t find his ancestors (If he had any).

All sort of help or tips are very helpful.

Best regards

Lennart from sweden

After I posted to you, I realized (duh) you are in Sweden. I found a lot of possibles. Particularly a man (Richard P. Anderson, born the correct yr, from Sweden, correct parish)who was a reservist during the second World War and was called up, it seems that He would have been to old to be called up. I need to find out. I know they called up some pretty old guys. Anyway, this man is MIA. There are many other possibles. do you have any other information on his relatives, so that if I happen to connect to a tree someone here has put together I can verify that it is Him?

Hello Rochester. First of all thank you for your reply. Actually the fact is this. I am sitting in sweden and I have tried several swedish sites, also the swedish immigrant institute. The problem is that in the churchbooks he has a note called obefintlig. That means that nobody in that time had no clue about his whereabouts and when he went. All I know is that my granddad told my mother when he was alive that he got a brother who had immigrate to USA. As I wrote I have search for him over two years. Now I am looking for american sites that have some sort of register of people who have worked on ships over to USA, and not have going thru the normal places as Ellis Islands. Thank you for your tip and have a great day and easter. Best regards Lennart

Hello Yada Yada.

I am sorry if I had to correct you about his name. The name I wrote is the correct one. I live in sweden my self and I know my relatives.Smile The problem in this case is that he work abroad to USA. So the regular sites like ellis islands is nothing for me. I need to find sites that have listings from swedes who was registrated on boats.

In swedish churhbooks he is what we called "obefintlig". It means that no one had a clue about his whereabouts what so ever. The last trace I had from him is his militaryservice around 1914-1917. I think that he left sweden in that years.

Andersson here in sweden is if I am not wrong the third common name. It is little tricky do do genealogical researches on a andersson Smile. But still it is intresting to hear about your andersson and it might be people in sweden who are looking for your anderssons. BTW Richards dad was Anders Gustav Andersson.

If you want please mail me your information to me about your anderssons.

And as we say in sweden. Ha en riktigt Glad Påsk. It means (free translation) Have a really Happy eastern. Laughing

Regards

Lennart

Hello Yada Yada again Yada Yada. I have been on your homepage and look up your Anderssons/Andersons. change letters in your name was a common thing to do when you arrived to US. Andersson is slight different prenouncement then Anderson. the two S style is with a "harder"? A like the first A in bananas.

Then we have Richard who could been Rick or petrus have become Peter.

Olsson could have been Olsen. Or people who I think in my case have change their name totally for example. Richard Petrus Andersson. He could have change the name to Peter Richardson.

regards

Lennart

Hello again Rochester. I thank you for your links you gave me. Unfortunatly I have tried this links before and I did not have any use of them.  BTW where do you live? in USA? The problem I got is that I have no idea how your system works "over there". I asume that you are from USA. Did you see what yada Yada wrote to me?

Do you know what have happend to her/his account? It seems that it´s deleted. Frown. She/He gave me information, but I don´t know where to find same info that she/he got?

Do you have any idea or maybe have the link to his/hers homepage?

regards

Lennart
