I am very concerned about the article submitted by Anne Roiphe. It is not clear from her article whether she considers herself to be Christian or Jew. But from what I've read, she does not have the right to speak for us Christians. She may view us as fundamentalist, but her opinions in this article seem extreme to me. We, Christians, simply do not hold these views that she portrays in this article!! Do many Jews actually believe that it is the Christians' mission to convert Jews to Christianity? I am an American Christian and I do not believe that God wants the Jewish people to be anything other than who God created them to be..Jewish. Only that they be introduced to Yeshua and told of the love that He has for them and all of us. Does it make a Jew less Jewish to believe in Yeshua? No! Yeshua himself was also a Jew. Many Christians, including myself, have a great love for the Jewish people. I do not think of the Jewish people as eternally damned or that it is wrong to teach creationism in schools, afterall, does not Genesis, also a part of the Torah, teach that God created the Heavens and the earth? Would you want your children mistakenly growing up thinking they evolved from apes? I really hope that people reading this article will not take it to heart. There may be a few christians with this mentality, but I can assure you that this does not apply to most of us!!! If you really want to know how many christians think...Watch Daystar! From what I've been told, it is the only christian television network from the USA allowed in Israel. Also, on ABC television in the USA, it was Sarah Palin who defended the Jews right to protect themselves. Please don't be so quick to judge without finding out the facts!!! Be Blessed! <>< Iris from the USA
