Were there any REAL rioters at London's G-20 meeting today (4/1/09)?

Were there any REAL protestors in the riot in London today?  The video I saw looked like hundreds of media photographers being pushed back by dozens of yellow coated police officers.  The person breaking the bank windows was surrounded by fifty photographers, not fellow rioters.

Those holding signs and effigies weren't rioting at all, just standing around trying to be photographed.

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

I am a news freak, so yesterday I was watching CNN International, BBC, and Sky News, all live from London. As of 9:00 PM (London) the police had made 35 arrests. There were troublemakers, but nothing like in previous G7 or G8 meetings.

Do they mention how many of the arrested people were not carrying cameras?  Or what the arrests were for?  I saw two separate window smashings where one person was doing the smashing and they were surrounded by a crowd of photographers.  I also saw lots of crowd scenes with hundreds of people in a crowd holding cameras over their heads to try and take pictures of the police as they were being pushed back.  It looked more like crowds of paparazzi around the red carpet at the Oscars than a riot as the news commentators kept saying it was as they showed the video.  I'm thinking that there were more media people present than actual protestors, and maybe a half dozen rioters/vandals mugging for the cameras.  More a case of the media making the news rather than just covering it.

They didn't say what they were arrested for. You probably saw the same reports that I was watching. I will say one thing for Fox, they did report what Michelle Obama was wearing.
