  1. Keep the area affected by the skin fungus clean and dry. Avoid touching anyone else with the infected area.

  2. Step 2
Treat Athlete's Foot with antifungal cream that can come with an antibiotic, if necessary. The antifungal cream will need to be applied for at least a month on a daily basis before it is cured. Oral griseofulvin may be prescribed by a physician if the antifungal cream does not take care of the problem.

  3. Step 3
Use a topical antifungal cream to treat Ringworm of any type. If the Ringworm is located on the scalp, you will need to shampoo on a regular basis using an antifungal shampoo. Ringworm of the face may need to be treated with oral griseofulvin. If there is an inflamed area, cortisone shots may be needed to get rid of the fungus.

  4. Step 4
Apply an antifungal ointment to other types of skin fungi such as Candidiasis, Jock itch and Tinea Versicolor. Tinea Veriscolor may need to be treated with an antifungal shampoo, as well.

  5. Step 5
Use any prescribed medicine until it is completely finished, even if you cannot see the skin fungus any longer.
