I am caring for a child with an anoxic brain injury in hospital.6 days ago he was sent out to treat bleeding from trach. Returned the next day after treatment for post-op bleeding from recent tonsillectomy,adenoidecty, and tracheal lesion repair. Friday we were still removing some old blood from trach but by Sat just yellowish drainage. Sunday afternoon a small amt of purplish material was draining from G-tube site(button). He is NPO. All meds are white except inderal which is orange and feeding is Jevity. Drainage is Royal purple and halos on linen.I am told the blood is not involved.(total amt purple is > teaspoon). Any clues?
