How do I forward messages properly that have the lines down the left side? What do the lines mean, and when I click forward why are only the addressees names listed, but not the message?

The lines on the side of your email are from prior emails. The addressees names are listed as ones who have received this prior. The message clears so that you may include what you want to say. I have seen it this way before where the forward will clear everything and you start anew.
