Permanant residency vs citizenship?

Hi, I am a international student currently studying in Australia, I have a few questions upon immigrating to Australia,

1. If I get married to a Australian citizen, will I gain permanent residency or citizenship straight away? If I can only get a permanent residency, under what conditions I can be granted the citizenship?

2. If only permant residency is granted, how long will be the lodgement process approximately?

3. Does a permant resident enjoy edcuation benefits like paying local tuition fee in tertiary education?
