Patient rights in the trauma bay

a motor vehicle accident victim is delivered by EMS to the trauma bay. he is groggy, scared, and in pain, but is for the most part alert. after his examination, nurses insert a nasogastric tube and a foley catheter, each over his vocal objections. these procedures force him to bear even more pain than he already had. he was brought to the ER to be treated and to relieve his pain, not to have the staff inflict more. he tried to refuse the NG tube and the catheter, begging to at least be sedated beforehand. just what are a trauma patients rights in these situations?
