Obama's proposal to "rid the world" of atomic weapons.

Obama's and others' proposals to eliminate our atomic weapons arsenals would leave us vulnerable to our own destruction. Simply ask yourselves: Where, in all the history of mankind, has already developed knowledge ever been eradicated or undone? Yet idealistic naifs (perhaps including the opportunistic Obama if he is actually such, or not simply leading you to your own slaughter for your approbation and support) would seek to eliminate our atomic weapons; and thus leave us vulnerable to destruction. For knowledge cannot be eradicated; and some evil nation, group, or individuals somewhere in this world would undoubtedly harbor this knowledge for the power to destroy us. Wake up, Leftists & other pseudo-idealists, and face up to reality; before you leave us indefensible before all of the evils (amply demonstrated throughout history) in this world!

When life presents a challenge, take your shot.

I 100% agree with you.  There is no reason to undo anything.  The world knows now how to create nuclear weapons and this can't be undone.  This knowledge cannot be undone.  As long as our enemies know how to create these weapons, we too need to have these weapons.

The beauty and scent of a flower, are my little slice of heaven here on earth.

Hi I am just joining and this is the first question I saw that caught my interest. Yes I agree, we need to keep our guard up and not get behind in our defenses. President Obama must not be experienced in war because history has shown that if you let your guard down the enemy will take advantage of it.

It is impossible to uninvent something already invented and nobody has a monopoly on nuclear weapons any more. Those who already have nuclear arms have  nothing  to gain by using them. They cannot be used to  rule or occupy anybody or win wars against other nuclear powers. So in fact their owners only keep them as a last self defense against possible enemies.

Therefore the only way to stop dangerous nuclear proliferation is to achieve a consensus to put all nuclear weapons without exception in the exclusive hands of a democratically elected international world police force, which would then exercise a nuclear blackmail monopoly to defend us all and put a stop to anybody ever again developing new weapons of mass destruction or egoistically threatening to destroy us all. .

Maybe a little bit less sovereignty and a bit more such cooperation is less utopian than it looks at first sight and would make the world a safer and better place for everybody.

We must learn to understand that sometimes teamwork means a lot to gain and nothing to lose.

Hey if you want to 'cooperate' with Islam then be my guest. I for one will not be getting fitted for a Burka, nor will I bow to Sharia Law. Radical Islam needs to be stopped at any cost. Iran is close to having a nuclear weapon and they need to be stopped.

No, Cindy. Without exception means without exception. Neither radical Islam nor radicals of any sort should have nuclear weapons. Particularly Iran, North Korea, the USA, Pakistan, India,China,Russia,Great Britain, France and Israel should all be brought to understand that they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by putting any and all nuclear weapons they own or develop in the exclusive hands of a democratically elected international world police force, which would then exercise a nuclear blackmail and control monopoly to defend us all and stop anybody else ever again developing new weapons of mass destruction or egoistically threatening to destroy anybody.

If Iran or anybody else doesn´t want to see the sense in this, the rest would have the joint power to enforce nonconformist compliance.

Good luck with that Felix, it's not that easy.  1. Iran, N Korea, Russia and other nations would never agree to it and 2., Now you are talking about the whole New World Order type of thing which would mean we would end up with everyone being disarmed and no way to defend ourselves from the government if it got too power hungry. Don't think for a second that the ruler of all wouldn't get too power hungry, because history has shown that that's exactly what happens. You go ahead and tout your Liberal Socialist idealism, I don't want anything to do with it. I say we should have taken care of the problematic nations Years ago when we had the chance and now it may be too late, thanks to you and your Liberal, apologetic friends.
