At NO time, did I say that ANY institution should not comply with Federal regs, or would I propose that.
I DO NOT feel that the government should ever have the ability to to take over these facilities(under any guise) or demand the money that these "successful" institutions have been able accumulate.
Why should they, if the follow the government guidelines be requires to turn over any of their finances to the government?
Instead of the "redistribution of wealth " ,why not just close inefficient hospitals?
I'm sure Obama could use the Joint Commission On Accreditation Of Hospitals to accomplish that task.
But ,let's just say for argument ,the Catholic Hospital Association, says"fine we are no longer in the hospital business in the United States", that is a lot of people who are taken care of (much of which is indigent care) that will need to be picked up by the US health care system.
And lets look at the actual health providers (nurses) there is already a nursing shortage in the United States, you place another 11 million people (those which are currently uninsured) into the system who will take care of them?
In both the British and Canadian systems nurses left the profession in droves, and have not rebounded.
My plight is NOT about my or any other organization making money. My plight is putting a system in place that will seriously curtail health care in this country. Denied care ,long waits for routine diagnostic tests and surgeries. Denied clinical trial drugs for oncology patients.
The bottom line, I could give a rats ass if any hospital makes "one thin dime", but government take overs of hospitals under the guise of "improving health care" is just plain wrong!
I am sorry that you think I insulted your intelligence, that was not my intent. The intent was top question the government's authority to take over the health care system in the manner that they intend.
