A.O. Smith Hot Water Heater

This question will show my ignorance with water heaters but anyone familiar with A.O. Smith? I am looking at replacing our old dome-vent hotwater heater with a bigger, direct-vent style. I can get A.O. Smith heaters at cost or even a little under. I just want to be sure they are safe and reputable.

Please advise.
Thanks!

T. B.

THAT WHICH DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER.

Bull. Reality is, it will usually hurt like hell and leave you with a permanent limp.

Why do you want to heat the hot water ? ************* Sorry, couldn't resist: it's one of my pet peeves; but, to your credit, you DID say both "water heater" (correct) and "hot water heater" (incorrect) lol. Seriously, SMITH has been making water heaters for longer than I have been around ( and that's a fairly long time ). Smith makes a lot of larger commercial heaters - it's a good brand. They may even produce heaters that are sold under other , better known brands - I'm not sure.
