Nubs, the dog one Marine found..

I just read the beautiful story about Nubs, the dog one Marine bonded with on his tour in Iraq. What a true blessing! In the midst of real hell, this Marine saw hope and love. Why aren't there more people in this world who can appreciate that dogs really are man's best friend? I often wonder, is there some way to "re-educate" those who have been taught to hate all their lives to love again using animals?

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share this with us, I wish more people would do the same. It always gives me such pleasure to read a story that comes straight from the heart.

You bring up an excellent viewpoint about those who have been taught to hate.

The only thing I can think of is the quote, "To have a friend, you must be one."

Life is to short! So live it to the fullest

Some people say that you can re-educate people by using animals, But the real question is why do they hate in the first place and do we as animal lovers want to put an animal (such as a dog) in the position to be abused. Me I feel that an animals love and trust is special and should be cherished. I hope that one day we can teach people to love and trust each other as animals do.

I am not sure we can re-educate adults that have hate in their hearts, but what we can do is educate children in the schools. The Humane Society already does this.
