I haven't heard the Nazis did torture Freemasons, but I can hazard a guess as to why. Behind the insanity of Nazi Germany was Adolf Hitler's belief in elder gods, called the Thule. He believed these Gods had destined the Aryan race to be the racially pure rulers of the world. The Chosen, if you will. Along with Eichmann, who formed the SS as a direct result of this belief, they searched out mystical knowledge and searched for mystic objects like the spear of Longinus, nails from the cross, and various other powerful objects. The Freemasons have long been rumored to be a secret mystical organization which possessed objects once guarded by the Knights Templar and the Illuminati. Hitler and Eichmann were no doubt trying to pry these 'secrets' from any Freemasons thay may have tortured.
