- A middle east with a united Palestine instead of Israel isn’t much more “Islamified” than it currently is. There will still be Christians and Jews there as there have been for the last thousand years.
…bring militant Islam knocking on the door of Europe once again.
How? You make it seem like the entire focus of the Islamic world is Israel and when these guys are done with Israel they are just going to be chillin’ playing Xbox 360 and Parcheesi until one day BAM! Ahmed walks in with a duffel bag and says, “Road trip! We will be blowing ourselves up in Greece from now on!” Islam is already established in most parts of Europe and there isn’t a big insurgency. Why? Well (and this is just a theory) people aren’t willing to go on suicide missions when there isn’t anything to kill themselves over-like maybe being occupied for hundreds of years, or being driven from your homeland and forced to live in deplorable refugee camps, or having to live your entire life in a war zone, or knowing that you are demonized most everywhere in the world.
There is no difference between Islamic terrorism in Thailand, the Philippines, India or Israel. The conflicts are all connected to the dream of a caliphate and eventually "all lands under Allah".
There is a big difference between these localized problems and of course they are all connected to the dream of a caliphate and eventually "all lands under Allah" otherwise they would not be considered ISLAMIC terrorism. It’s similar to the myriad examples of Christianity’s insurgency and terrorism which although differ in global position have similar aims.
2. Islam deeply stresses not being influenced by hypocrites for fear of being tainted in a similar way to Christianity’s homophobia.
If we look to the actions of the majority of Muslims for precedents of future Islamic action we find a group of people who want peace and want a solution to injustice and will welcome a stranger. There are, however, those in the Middle East that are extremist and hell-bent on causing problems for the west who caused them problems until, somehow, they think the problems will be resolved. It should be noted that these people are mainly in government or a terrorist organization.
What President Obama is trying to do may eventually work. We are engaged in a celestial war, a country fighting a contrived religious ideal-jihad. To win we must promote democracy. This is not the first time the U.S. has tried its hand at a peaceful Mid-east. A notable attempt was Carters Camp David Accords. Of course Anwar Sadat was assassinated most likely because he signed the accord.
