Hi Pauline-I'm assuming that the roof is not truly steel, but possibly aluminum sheeting or other less tough material. If the roof is flat and the antenna height is no more than 8-10 feet, guy wires should not be required. Consult your local Home Depot, Lowes or other hardware store for the proper type of anchors for your tripod mounting into the roof. You should also ask them about the proper tools for installation of the anchors (wrenches, etc). If it's possible that putting anchors in the roof will cause leaks, then also consult with them about sealant material to seal IN THE Pre-drilled anchor Holes, and also around the bottoms of the tripod mount and guy wires. If the antenna height is higher than 8-10 feet, you will need steel or alumiclad wire for the guy wires and a collar for the antenna pole, just below the bottom of the antenna itself. SLANTED ROOF: Pretty much the same, except that you may need to cut material off one of the tripod legs in order that the antenna is vertical after installation. Good Luck.
