Smile, it's contagious!

To use 'shortened' version of specific disease, organ, procedure, etc. w/o having to go into a long explaination of exactly what they are referring to and have an accurate description related to another member of the medical profession in detail based on old Latin that was more accurate and used by physicians at the time of Hippocratic oath.

Actually, I just made this up.  But, I think it is pretty close to the real reason.  Every profession, carreer, job, hobby, etc. has it's own specific language to make it easier to carry out a specific task with accuracy.

Medical terminology is not difficult.  Just find the root word in a longer word, add to it the base word for specific (procedure, organ, ailment, etc), and other defining word from old Latin that is descriptive of subject (root word). When finished you have new medical terminology.

Caring for others like thyself.

 Truth, Justice~the American way.

God is great, a Smilebeer is good, People are crazy!

THE TRUTH BEING Physcians are threatened by patients asking or knowing too much about THEMSELVES.  They want to control your care and not have you participate.  Push this pill (the drug company brought them lunch yesterday), pushed by Hospitals to keep all out-patient testing "in-house"; away from free stands (that are cheaper, good and hold more to their appointments).

DOCTORS ARE THREATENED BY KNOWLEDGE.  KNOWLEDGE IS POWERFUL.  IF YOU QUESTION, AND CAN GET TO THE BOTTOM, IT IS A THREAT TO THEIR OWN GREED FOR MONEY.  THINK ABOUT IT.   FOR AN EXAMPLE:
YOU HAVE A BLOOD PRESSURE ISSUE,  YOU ARE CONTROLLED ON MEDICATION.  YOU TAKE YOUR b/p WHEN IN A PHARMACY, AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, SPONSORED FREE WALK-IN SERVIES, ETC., AND IF THERE ARE NO OTHER HEALTH ISSUES, WHY DO THEY WANT YOU TO COME BACK WEEKLY?    TO GET THE ALMIGHTY BUCK.  Healthcare reform, of some type, is going to happen.  It did and is not working in Canada.  They come to the US.  They wait in Canada 6-9 months to even see a Specialist.

GREED. MONEY. BUCKS FOR THEM.   GET A GRIP ON YOUR LIFE.  GET HEALTHY.  STOP THE PILLLS, UNNECESSARY AND OVER TESTING, LARN YOUR BODY.....WHAT TRIGGERS IT TO GO OFF KILTER?

Every scenario is different.  HOWEVER, this universe is pushed by greed.

STOP PAYING YOUR MONEY TO THESE GREEDY PROFESSIONALS (they claim to be)!  I STILL SAY - INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION - ALL ABOARD!

Almost all professions have their own terminology. I'm a CG 3D artist, if I were to start talking to you about the details of ploy modeling, extruding, chamfering, box modeling, UV texturing, baking, ambient occlusion and so on, you'd be lost. The terminology isn't to exclude people not in the field, but to give people who work in that profession a common, shared terminology so that I can speak to someone who used different tools than I do, that work differently, but we both understand the process we're talking about because of the common terminology.
