my mother has a 1998 dodge stratus, 4 door with 172,000 miles on it right now city,highway alot miles,good condition, wellshe took it to 2 different places to have it repaired and both mechanics told her that it was the main bearing seal leaking oil, she was averagin about 8 quarts a week, it is a i believe a 6 cylinder 3.8 litre motor,it is still leaking oil or possibly burning it, but i think maybe the mechanics may have tightened maybe the main bearing gasket too tight and or it may have cracked under the weeather stress or such,or they may have noit tightened the small 3/8 inch around bolts that the main bearing pan is connected too possibly and i dont know if they put in a new cork pan gasket or if they have them in metal or aluminuim ones now also, now yesterday she had to get her car jump started by another vehichle and now her and before this her mileage odometer reading blinks off and own anyone here by chance have any ideas pertaing to this matter of my moms, please and thank you????"?
