Having an adjustable rate mortgage thru Countywide, we applied for the H4H program the day it became available. We get a different story every time we call Countrywide for a status. We have several friends in the same predicament as us and they have been able to go thru the program and complete it and have saved their homes. We are afraid that because of Countrywide's overburden of foreclosed properties that we are falling thru the cracks and will end up being told that we cannot help you, and they will sheriff sale our house, which was originally scheduled for sheriff sale on the first Monday in Oct. They postponed that until the first Monday in January, but when we talk to them on Thursday, December 3, 2008, they claimed that we have yet to be assigned to a counselor, which we find hard to beleive, since we called them early in the am on the day the program opened, gave our details and provided our income verifications, and now they say if we have not made it thru the program by the end of December, they will NOT postpone the sheriff sale again. Can you tell me where I might go to get some action on this besides Countrywide, and I have called the FHA and get conflicting stories from them. Thank you, TN in PA.
