Living in the NOW

Have you ever wondered if you are REALLY seeing things, clearly and just as they are, without a vail of prejudgement, or if you are seeing what you want or wish to be there?  I feel sometimes that I am in a place doing something, but I am constantly thinking that I should be doing something else, somewhere else!  So I feel that I am not concentrating on what I am actually doing, enjoying the moment and living in the now.  I am afraid I am missing out on my moment to moment life 'cause I'm distracted by life!  Does anyone even understand what I'm talking about?  I think that simple minded people are blessed 'cause their thoughts are less complicated.  Maybe just a tiny frontal lobotomy would be nice!  That's a joke.

If you have any thoughts on this museing, let me know.

Hi Bluedime,

What you're feeling is quite normal .  This happens to other people and to me too. Sometimes we think that it's greener on the other side of the fence only to find out that it is not so.  It only appears that way.

When I realize that I am not paying attention to what I'm presently doing, I try my besrt to tell myself that to be happy, I have to be contented with what I have.  If I want to do something different, then I have to rearrange my life and do things to reach the goal.  You know fully well that it is not that easy to succeed in life.  One has to focus, write plans on paper,  put down all the steps to attain it and then just follow what you've put on paper  until you finally reach your goal.

You can make a choice:  to keep what you're doing and be happy with it, or make changes in your life and make plans to succed in something else you're interested in and something that will give you the sense of fulfillment.

    Take care.

Thanks for your time.   I read a Zen saying once:  "With the right attitude, one could be happy in hell".  I am not about changing my life.  I love my life as it is.  I just want to be able to stay in the moment and not have a jumbled mind.  It is balancing, not too far one way, not too far the other.  I can do it but it is easy to be distracted.  I see people who are not there all the time - a man playing golf but really thinking about his car needing repairs.  A woman on her morning walk - but listining to headphones and probably thinking she has laundry to do at home.  Do you see what I am talking about?.  If your golfing - then golf!  Walking?  Then just walk!  This mental-multi-tasking is, to me, rediculous and a time-waster.  Others may accept it but I don't want to be like that.  Hey, I'll just keep trying.  I know what I want to accomplish, I know how to do it, so I'll keep practicing 'till it is second nature.    Thanks again.

The best way for a person to have happy thoughts is to count his blessings and not his cash.

Hi Bluedime, goodmorning

Be happy for this Moment.  This Moment is your Life.

"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be."

Cultivate the practice of living NOW. Live each moment as the only moment that exists
Live in the present, for it is the only moment you have. Keep your attention on what is here and now; look for the fullness in every moment. Accept what comes to you totally
Have a nice day

"Always keep the child within"......
