It could be a few things. First I would check on the amount of memory that is left open. When the memory is full, it tends to make the computer much slower. Another thing you can look at is whether you have a virus on the computer that is causing problems.

You probably have too many programs downloaded on your laptop. Go to your start menu and click on computer, click on uninstall programs. Look through what you have downloaded and the frequency of how many times you use the each program. Do not take off anything marked windows programs. Be sure to reboot your computer by turning off and restart after you remove these programs. Then you need to make sure you are deleting emails. Do disk cleanup afterwards and then defragement your computer. If you don't clean out your recycle bin by clicking on it twice and then click on empty the recycle bin occassionally that will slow your computer. Too many toolbars will slow your computer and too many icons will do the same thing. If you are unsure how to do these tasks use your help menu to accomplish each task. It is good to attempt this without spending money that is unecessary. Make sure you have a good security system to protect your computer also. Webroot spyware, Norton spyware are good ones. If you really don't want to attempt these things use tune up. Remember defragementing files is slow but it really makes a difference.            Shortbusdee
