I am trying to establish the provenance for a vintage 14k gold choker I acquired. It is signed KIGU.
I believe it is KIGU of London, the famous compact maker. The stylized KIGU signature is identical to the TESS ( trademark electronic search system) documented filing for KIGU, Waldo Works, Waldo Road, London.
The last entry I find on the internet for the evolution of KIGU of London shows them being owned by Laughton & Sons. I can find no reference to Waldo Works. It is apparent though that the hallmark on this choker is KIGU's.
Perhaps they licensed their name to someone in the US? I saw a reference once to Neiman-Marcus, but cannot find it again
