Wink

I used to live inside the shuk in Jerusalem. I loved waking up every morning to the bakery smells.

A Shuk is a bakery?  How lovely.  What type of breads/pastry were your favorites?  By the way, thanks so much for answering.  NJOy

If you think Obama's system is working, ask someone who isn't!

The part I liked best was the people.  In Jerusalem, people were surprisingly polite and did not take offense as easily as we do here.  It helps to have someone in your group who speaks Arabic and Hebrew.

The part I liked least was the hostility Israelis endured from neighboring Arab states.  Dealing with these treacherous and stubborn people can be a severe eye-opener.

Rest assured, the best friend Israel ever had was America.

Now, our Chief Executive may be Israel's worst and most duplicitous, stubborn and unforgiving enemy.

Let us pray that we can remove Obama soon, if only for the sake of our friend, Israel.

Thanks for answering Mike. There haven't been many answers to my question, but more than one has mentioned "the people" or the "culture" and how forthright the people are.  Wonder what makes the difference.  Size of country?  perhaps?  I would think Israelies would be living in fear and not so happy and content, but that is because I invision it as a small country constantly being attacked in one way or another.
