Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

Jesus the Messiah.

Yeshua ha Moshiach.

It should be one or the other in my thinking.

They do not see it because the previous chapters and the ones following ch 53 all identify the "servant" as the nation of Israel. So they argue that if all the surrounding chapters are about the nation of Israel, so also must ch 53 be about the nation and the suffering it has had to endure over the centuries. WE understand it is speaking of Jesus because it is quoted in the NT by the apostles who links it to Jesus but the Jews do not accept the NT as being the inspired word of God. And will not accept it authority. I listened to a very good talk on Isa 53 given by Rabbi Tovia Singer.  He was very convincing and had it not been for the ch being linked to Jesus in the NT, I would have been completed convinced by him.

If God is with us, who can be against us?

Isaias-53  is  for sure an eye opener.  I say it again,  it all depends if your paying attention when you read or if the chapter is on your bible at all.  this is something that has been happening lately with some jewish rabbi's.  They want to make some people believe that this particular chapter was never in scripture. This I know, because, not only did i read this in a jewish page, but, I posses a Bible or part of a bible the ommits this chapter. Some rabbi's admit that they do not understand this chapter, while other say that is not about Jesus.

Clearly, it is all about Him, Jesus. The Jewish messiah and our great saviour.

Peace.
