What had happened before you stopped seeing the data?
First try to connect the player to another computer, if it doesn't help there are companies which have expertise in recovering lost data, but they aren't cheap.

iRiver e10 is a hard drive based player. You can go to most data recovery companies (you can find more than a few online which you can ship the drive to) that can help you recover most of your files.
The search for people who can answer your question continues for as long as needed - until you find the answer you were looking for.

Danny, I'm glad to hear it. It seems to have cost you relatively cheap which is great.
Just remember next time that its usually worth while to backup things to other media
