Iop requirements are 10 hours a week--my question is, if a client is unable to attend a group session during the week, is the program in non-compliance ??
It depends on the IOP and the reasons for not attending. Obviously needing to attend an IOP has been caused by a serious issue... usually life threatening (or this issue could become life threatening). I cannot speak for all IOP's out there, but the one I attend is understanding when important issues arise. They will obviously not allow you to miss whenever you feel like it. Likewise if your work or other activites are in the way, you should consider changing these. Making through the IOP will hopefully change your life, and these other activites can be second rate compared to the change that can come from putting your all into an IOP.
