Interior Painting Question

I am having the entire inside of my 5 year old house quoted for repainting.  Currently we have builders flat and are considering some sort of a semi gloss finish.  (ceiling , doors, and trim white. Walls an undecided earth tone)

One painter i suggesting 2 coats of "Pitsburg" and another brand. Any thoughts ?

John

John,  I don't care for flat paint.  It shows too much, like handprints, scuffs.  I like semi-gloss.  It seems to give a room a certain "bright shine".  Builders flat is fine if you don't have kids to leave marks, and you want more of a dull finish. I have seen the different types of paint, as my husband is an industrial painter.  He also does house painting on the side.  Just giving you my opinion as to what I have seen.

I always stick to the big names in paint. My favorite is Behr paints. I prefer semi gloss in the kitchen, bath, family room and halls. I like to use a satin finish in the other rooms.
