Indigestion problem

I just recently started indigestion and acid reflux. I also feel like I can't ever eat enough and I am always hungry. I hear my stomach "growling" and it sounds like liquids are always moving around in my stomach which causes mild nausea. My bowel movements are regular and I have had no vomiting, but my weight fluctuates 5-7 pounds every few days. Anybody have any suggestions on what could be causing these symptoms and should I see my doctor? Thanks.

Acid indigestion is commonly referred to as heartburn and is a burning sensation in the chest or throat that occurs when stomach acid is backed up into the esophagus. A person who suffers from acid indigestion more than twice a week might be diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which the muscles do not close tightly enough at the end of the esophagus, causing reflux. There are prescription drugs available as well as lifestyle changes that can be made to help get rid of acid indigestion.

Take over-the-counter antacids such as Maalox.

  • Step 2
Take over-the-counter proton pump inhibitors, such as Prevacid, to block acid production and allow healing in the esophagus.

  • Step 3
Avoid food triggers, such as alcohol. Keeping a food diary might help to determine which foods cause your acid indigestion.

  • Step 4
    Eat smaller more frequent meals.

  • Step 5
    Avoid lying down after meals.

  • Step 6
Quit smoking. Smoking can decrease lower esophageal sphincter function.

  • Step 7
Elevate the head of your bed six to nine inches.

  • Step 8
    Maintain a healthy weight.

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

Good advice from Masterflagger, but I would still go to a doctor and get checked out. There can be numerous possibilities that are causing the problems that you are describing and it is best to find out why you are having such drastic weight changes within such a short time.
