After arguing with Doctors for years about my symptoms, I was finally told I had an inactive thyroid. I was prescribed syntroid and took it for a month. No change and due to personal reasons I could not get back to the doctor for 6 months after finishing the medication. I had another blood test and was told my thyroid is normal. I find this odd as my symptoms are still there. How does this happen? Also is there any other hormonal issues in women that mimic the symptoms of an inactive thyroid that a regular CBC and TSH, FSH blood test would not show? Is an adrenal disease or illness possible?
