Help! I don't think this way!

My daughter is in seventh grade and gets A's in everything except math.  Her teacher gives a problem of the week each week.  They are usually challenge problems and have been diffucult for me as well as her.  I teach 2nd grade.  I've managed to find, work and explain most of them to her.  This one may not be that difficult but I think of too many possibilities.  Here is the problem:

Last Tuesday on flight #196 to Denver,  Mrs. Jones, Miss Smith, and Mr. Bond were seated together in row 13.  At one particular time, all of the following were true:

A.  Mrs. Jones had her tray table down.

B.  The person sitting in the window seat was to the left of the other two.

C.  Mr.Bond was sitting next to Mrs. Jones.

D.  The lady in the center was reading a magazine.

E.  Miss Smith was reading a book.

F.  Miss Smith was the stepdaughter of the person on Mr. Bond's left.

Who was sitting in the aisle seat?

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

I DESPISE logic problems. I'll pass this question on to a couple of my friends, though.

In the meantime, try taking a piece of paper and working it out in columns (like they show you in the crossword puzzle books); putting an 'x' in the space that applies and eliminating stuff that won't fit.

Good luck!

Mr. Bond is in the aisle seat.  Mrs. Jones is in the middle  (wonam in the middle is reading a magazine, but Miss Smith is reading a book).  And Miss Smith is in the window seat.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
The answer is fairly simple:
1.  Miss Smith sits near the widow.
2.  Mrs Jones was sitting in the middle seat.
3.  Mr Bond wad sitting next to the isle.
How did I reach the answer:
a.  Clue 1: If a person is sitting to the left of Mr Bond
than he can sit either in the middle or next to the isle.
b.  It says that a lady sits in the middle (and reads…..)
c.  So Mr bond must sit in the seat next to the isle.
d.  And it says he sits next to Mrs Jones.
e.  So the order is:  Window, Miss Smith, Mrs Jones, Mr. Bond.
Best regards,

Yes, on mrs. jones just seat in row 13. It's always been like that and it most likely will always stay that way, too

This is not maths but we try to be helpful here.

B: Window on the left

D & E: Lady in centre reading mag not Miss Smith, (who is reading a book).
Miss Jones in centre, so options are now:-
W BJS or W SJB

F: There is a person to the left of Mr Bond so he must be in the aisle seat
