Help regarding pumping diesel fuel

Can anyone tell me: If I go to a gas station to get diesel fuel in a gas can, are there different types of nozzles that would be for either fueling a lg truck that would not be safe to use in a gas can (high pressure pump nozzle)? Someone told me nozzles are designed differently on diesel pumps because lg vehicles use a high pressure nozzle that would explode a gas can and spray a person with diesel. Is that true? How can I tell which is which?

My experience with dispensing diesel fuel from a truck stop is that the truck hose have a large diameter nozzle to allow a larger fuel flow.. I have not experienced any "high presure" nozzles.  I would ask the attendent, but only dispense the fuel in short burst if the can was less than 5 gal.  If there is a high pressure nozzle, I would go somewhere else. Diesel fuel will foam more than gasoline.

A diesel pump at the gasoline fuel islands are for autos and pick-up trucks, and also trucks of larger ton capacity ( ie 1 1/2 ton and higher.  BUT NOT tractor-trailers)   Some gasoline stations have a SEPARATE island for semi fueling, DON'T get fuel there at the truck island.  The fuel NOZZLE is of large diam. and will be a problem both, as fitting and fuel flow amount.  However, a truck fuel island fuel pump nozzle can control the flow.  Just pull nozzle trigger untill "trickle" flow is seen.  Anything beyond that, will result in high fuel flow.  One thing else.  The nozzle does not control pressure, the PUMP, controls fuel pressure.   If you use ONLY diesel fuel pumps, at GASOLINE ISLANDS, you won't find "high pressure" problems,

Why are cars not running on natural gas like buses?

Thousands of cars and trucks run on Compressed Natural Gas. They are mostly fleet vehicles owned by State and Local governments. There are very few re-fueling stations that deliver CNG, so it isn't as police cars, or city type vehicles like meter maids and metro buses. The city will have fueling stations
