Start by applying for food stamps at your local Social Services office. Contact your area community organization (find in local telephone book.) for information about location, dates, day, time, etc when distribution is made for daily/weekly assistance with food. For holiday assistance apply at your local charitiable headquarters such as Metropolitan Ministries, or Catholic Charities, 'soup kitchen', church, community center, senior citizen center, etc. Some locations may already be taking applications, some may start at a later date. As for your electric bill ~ on your bill somewhere there is a place for making donations to those in need of electrical assistance. Contact your electric company to find out name of this place and where it is located. Go there and apply for assistance. Or go to Social Service office and apply for Home Energy Assistance Program (H.E.A.P.) funded by the Federal government and distributed by individual states for electric or gas. Must take shut off notice if faced with that and most recent bill. An application for Social Services may if approved help with your rent also. Also go to safelink.com for a free cell phone with 68 minutes a month for those who qualify. If you have lifeline on home phone you must cancel to qualify for free cell.
Hope this helps. If I can anwer any more questions feel free to ask.
