Aging and thinning skin -- bruise at slightest bump then get big red spot that takes days to go away.  What can I do to speed disappearance of red spot which is, I assume, blood just under skin surface? Cry

I have heard that in to addition aging, some meds can contribute to this.

Thank you.

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

You didn't give your age, but yes it is true that the skin thins and bruises more easily with age. To help absorption of blood under skin (bruising) apply cold compress or ice for the first day after injury every few hours, then follow with hot packs (to speed bloods reabsorption) for the next day or two. As well 500 to 1000 mils aday of vitamin C will help prevent bruising in the first place. If bruising is excessive, I would suggest having your liver checked out, as some liver problems can cause excessive bruising if the clotting mechanism is comprised. Good luck and hope you get it under control.
