Dear Peter Edwards, my heart goes out to you & your family. I am not in the medical field. However, my family faced a similiar situation years ago when my youngest sister was shot, which destroyed her esaphagus. She had to be fed by a G-tube for 2 years. During that time, she lost her taste buds. The doctors knew she had to get them back else after surgeries when hopefully she'd be able to eat again, she would not want to. I know what they did for her but that isn't what your grandson needs. It sounds very much to me as if he's lost his taste buds, giving him no desire to taste or eat food. Understandable. Plus, this is all he's ever known. Pray! Ask the Lord to heal his tastebuds & to show you & the family how to interest him in eating. I know, I make it all sound so simple or even ridiculous to some. But I've been at the edge of death with family & seen the destruction of one's phsycial body. But what is more, I have seen the Lord God do what He promises to do, THE IMPOSSIBLE! One might say he's alive, he's "thriving", what's the problem? I understand, there is a problem. You all want him to live a "normal" life as well as gain weight, be strong & health, etc. So does the Lord, He cares & longs to give you wisdom, discernement, & the skills to conquer this difficulty. Ask, believe, & trust. I am praying for each of you. Trishahearon
