Frozen hammer

GUN REPAIR BERSA 380   I fired my thunder 380 and when I loaded the clip and put it in the weapon the trigger was limp (wouldnt fire) and the hammer was cocked. When I put the safety on the hammer went forward. How do I fix this problem.

It sounds like a cleaning problem.  I am not familiar with Bersa, but .380 is not a very powerful round.  If your sidearm is recoil operated (most are because of their simplicity) then you probably have burned lube in the tracks that hold the slide.

Remove the operating spring and pull the slide back and forth very gently.  If you can feel it "catch" along the slide travel, you need to hone the tracks very lightly with a machinist's polishing stone.  Just remove the nicks, do not increase the slide play.

Failing that, talk to a gunsmith.
