The answer above is a great one. I would add, salon hair care products are of a higher quality than what you can get elsewhere. I like Redken products but I am sure there are a lot of other super ones for thin, fine hair. A protein power pack used at least once per month is also helpful. Color adds volume. All one length is better, or only very light layers. Consider a body wave or loose perm. Sally's sells a medication remover shampoo which should be used before any chemical process, and possibly between deep conditioning treatments. Find a good stylist and be loyal to him/ her. Ask around who is good with your type hair. Be reasonable. No one can make your hair look like a lion's mane. Some cuts just will not work for you. Shorter is better. Chin length or so. The really short cuts are adorable on petite women. Protect your hair from excessive heat from curling irons, blow dryers, etc. If expensive hair care is not an option, beauty schools are a great place to find affordable services. Try to get a Sr. student and don't hesitate to get the instructor involved. Hope this helps.
