Equal rights for gay/lesbians

I wonder how people can be so discriminative. Gays/Lesbians are also people and they deserve equal rights. I am happy to hear that there is a possibility that the president might sign a bill giving them some equal rights.

I hear so many reasons why Gays/Lesbians should not have equal rights and none are valid. As a straight woman, I believe they (just like the rest of us) are entitled to same inalienable rights. They contribute to society just like the rest of us.

If they want to marry, its their choice. Government should not get into matters of the heart. If that's the case, government should have a say on who we all marry.

I will not judge any of them by saying...it goes against God's doctrines. Well, that is for God to judge not me. God made them the individuals they are and I doubt he loves them any less. I don't care what they do in their bedrooms because I have my own bedroom life to be concerned with.

Some straight people have said they didn't want gays/lesbians forcing their lifestyle on them. I understand that and I agree! However, that can go both ways. If we do not accept them for who they are...then we are forcing our views and lifestyle on them.

We as straight people have issues, too. No pun intended. So, how can we focus on what the Gay/Lesbian community need to do or not do?

I see them as people who should marry who they want, who should love and be loved, who should have equality. They have a right to be happy, too.

What's your take?

I have never understood this hatred of gays and lesbians. Just what the hell are these people so afraid of? What the hell does what people do in the privacy of their own genitals have to do with their qualities as human beings?

Laugh more: tears cloud one's vision.

Because gays are by definition unable to control their sexual urges, and think little kids are fair game, then pardon me that I do not vote them absolute supremacy over my family, my kids' schools, and my community.

We had to pull our son out of a public school for two reasons:

1.  The teacher made a point to talk about "The joys of sex with an older man" to the boys and neglected the girls in his class.  Yes, that really is typical of them because it goes with their indoctrination.

2.  The same leftist liberal who hired that felony sex offender -- regardless that he is registered as a pedophile -- also preached daily against Christ!  She kept telling how Jesus was a racist and we must all ignore racists!

Since that is exactly how Bonestructure is, then we see how violent and predatory her atheist cult is also.

Stay away from my kids, pervert!

If I understand you, IAMAQUEENBEE, I totally agree with you. To ostracize a group of men and women who had nothing to do with being gay, that is like banning heterosexual couples from having sex. Good question. Michael Joel Held PS I hope that young boy read my post the other day. He need psychiatric help.

Gay people and pedophiles are two totally different issues.  Adults have sex with adults - whether they are of the same sex (gay) or opposite sex (straight).  They do not see children as sexual partners.

Pedophiles are predatory sexual offenders and interested in sex with kids because they are sick.

There is no reason to be prejudiced against gay people.  Most are as decent and hardworking as the rest of us.  Some aren't - just like some of us.  But, they are not interested in sex with kids.  They are as vital and important as the rest of good Americans are to our society.

And, please don't ascribe that kind of behavior to liberals - it's ridiculous and insulting.

If, what you described really actually happened in your son's classroom - the teacher sounds mentally disturbed and should not be teaching.  Whomever hired a "registered sex offender" should lose their job.  That is, if what you describe actually happened.

I don't hate gays/lesbians. They should have all the rights of others, in context.

If a faith doesn't advocate homosexuality, then gays should not try to force themselves in places of leadership there any more than they want it done to them. If they want to have domestic partnerships, civil unions that is fine. It should have the same advantages as marriage, BUT it cannot be called marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Like in chemistry. Water is water, H2O. It's Hydrogen and Oxygen. If you mix 2 Hydrogen or 2 Oxygen. It becomes something else, but it is not water. I guess you could say it's not prejudice, it's chemistry.

There should be no hatred, and there should be equal opportunity to services, but their unions are not marriages.
