I wonder how people can be so discriminative. Gays/Lesbians are also people and they deserve equal rights. I am happy to hear that there is a possibility that the president might sign a bill giving them some equal rights.
I hear so many reasons why Gays/Lesbians should not have equal rights and none are valid. As a straight woman, I believe they (just like the rest of us) are entitled to same inalienable rights. They contribute to society just like the rest of us.
If they want to marry, its their choice. Government should not get into matters of the heart. If that's the case, government should have a say on who we all marry.
I will not judge any of them by saying...it goes against God's doctrines. Well, that is for God to judge not me. God made them the individuals they are and I doubt he loves them any less. I don't care what they do in their bedrooms because I have my own bedroom life to be concerned with.
Some straight people have said they didn't want gays/lesbians forcing their lifestyle on them. I understand that and I agree! However, that can go both ways. If we do not accept them for who they are...then we are forcing our views and lifestyle on them.
We as straight people have issues, too. No pun intended. So, how can we focus on what the Gay/Lesbian community need to do or not do?
I see them as people who should marry who they want, who should love and be loved, who should have equality. They have a right to be happy, too.
What's your take?
