What to do when the boss says you stick your nose into things that do not involve you in the company. But it is okay for your equal counterparts in the company to constantly involve themselves in your department. How do you handle the situation when you are not one of the CEO's original employees and never have a say? Your labeled a troublemaker as you go to your CEO or direct report for direction but are attacked by your fellow coworkers in the office (in front of your staff). Then your told its okay that this person attacked you verbally in the office and they are just sensitive and to stay away from the for the next couple of days. Your told to work out the issues first with your equals (by the direct report) but this seems to never work as they constantly go to the direct report and complain about you as you did what you were told. How is this okay for the direct report to tell you to work out things with your coworkers first but they can do the opposite? You prove your point to your direct report and they agree with you, then the direct report agrees with the coworkers one of the original employees as the direct report will always agree with them. How can you be part of a company when it is evident the direct report has one set of standards for the employees that have been there longer compared to the new employees (or in this case I call us pions)? You follow the guidelines and then realize there is one set for the favorites/old timers and then there is another set for the newcomers. Minded everyone is on the same level and has the same reporting structure witin the company they just are overseeing different departments. How do you handle these type of situations when you work in a small company with too many chiefs and you are the lone indian?
