Employeer fired me for whistle blowing

I was wrongfully termianted from a job. The company just said I did not fit in. Is there a way to seek some form of retribution from this company. I had worked with no write ups or violations for over 107 days but when I reported a Department head for being drunk and inappropriate they fired me. What should I do do otehr than file for unemployment.

They can fire you for any reason. You must prove if it was something like whistle blowing.

I too work for a large company that can use anything for firing you. EX: we just don't need you anymore. They are probably protecting this department head( buddy to someone higher up etc.) you could talk to your local labor board about it but the company would probably win anyway. only his boss can demand a drug test.and if they are protecting him it will never happen. The only way I know for you to get your job back would be to prove you were discriminated against and even that is hard to prove. I know times are hard and you need your job but even if you got it back they would make it miserable for you. My advice go collect your unemployment and move on. amy
