Emotional Affair.

my wife had an emotional affair with a man for a couple of months. I found out about it and put a stop to it but not before she had fallen in love with the guy. I'm torn and don't know what to do. I want to work things out but I'm confused.  Should I try or give up?

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

What do you and she want to do? She is a part of this decision, you know.

In reading the information you have in your question, my first thought is that your wife is not actually "in love" with this other man.

An emotional affair of a couple of months is not enough time to build a "love" relationship. What she "loves" is what she was getting from him that she was not getting from you.

Therefore, I suggest marital counseling.

A good couples counselor can help you and your wife address the issues which caused her to begin this emotional affair in the first place. Furthermore, the therapist can help you learn to communicate effectively with each other, to fight fairly and to listen thoroughly.

In my opinion, it's certainly worth a shot.

GOD is 4 U

He's NEVER against U

and Jesus Is Lord!!!

You obviously love your wife or you wouldn't be asking this question.  Fight tooth and nail!!!  Not with your fists, though.  With your love.  Persue her.  Just as though you had never been married.  Only, with the knowledge you have gained.  She found something new and got INFATUATED with it.  That is NOT love.  She is the one who is confused!  Grandma advises marriage counciling, and I advise Putting GOD right at the top of your marriage.  He incorporated marriage from the beginning and noone in the entire universe will fight for you more passionately than GOD!  I'm not being religious, as it may seem, I"ve actually been in your shoes, and your wife's shoes.  Lining my life up with GOD'S word made the difference.  My marriage still encounters hardships, but, nothing too hard to bare.  This will most likely take a while, don't give up!!!  My wife and I didn't give up on each other, we're closing in on our 18th anniversery (Dec. 21).  And we added 2 more children for a total of 4!!  She worth the fight!!  And if you do choose to give up, you'll always wonder, "what if I had fought?"  Don't wonder!  Find out!!!

The answers here are great. I also suggest that you watch the movie Fireproof. It is a wonderful movie made by a church and it address problems in a marriage and how to deal with them. I know you think this is crazy but you are trying to decide where to start how to fix this whats wrong   Watch it    it helps.

God Bless     Your marriage is worth keeping!
