Dui

My mom got a dui two years ago in indiana and she paid 750.00 dollars to get out and they said she didnt have a court date and the officer said dnt worry about even after she called the county to see if she did have one and they said she didnt. They arrested her yesterday sayin she had a warrant. now there sayin she has to sit for 5 days to transfer her to see a judge in bartholomew county.. which i think is dumb she has called and stated she needs a lawyer. i dont know what to do. the coop told her to plead guilty and she might get out sooned but why is she going to jail on something she paid and was 2 years ago.

Cool Equal justice for All

The law works but the system needs changed, We all abide by the law but sometime it failes us. The same with the goverment. God bless the USA, Brign our troops HOME safely, To the men who did not get the credit they deserve, MAY GOD WATCH OVER OUR SERVICE MEN.

First of all a DUI offence is not one you can bail out of with out gowing to court as in most States it is an automatic suspenion of your license. To be truthful abuot it she should have gone to court, But if the facts as you state are the facts some one lied to her and if this can be proven she can sue over this all involved and she must name names of who stated this and try to have dates and times. Yes they will issue a warrent for her arrest if she did not go to court now depending on how the ticket is written as it should have had a time and place of the court hearing was to be held. Now to the arrest yesterday that is normal process of law and she should never take the word of the police as to pleading gulity my advise is contact an attorney for there advice. Even though it happened 2 years ago, now back up 2 years she only posted a bond to get out of jail that was not the whole cost in this case. The $750.00 was only to get her out of jail called BAIL for the offence now comes the rest she should have gone to court and or spent time in jail at that time aloung with court costs and her license suspended at that time. Now we have a fialure to show up for court date and possable fleeing from the law so she may have longer time to be in jail she may also be considered a flight risk at which time if she is luckey da- lucky she may get probation and license suspended. But as it is she now faces time in jail. And dont think the $ 750.00 bond was the end of it only the start.
