I just found out today that the Ford 2008 F-150 4.6L Triton engine has bad carbon build up on the spark plugs making it almost impossible to get the spark plugs out without stripping the threads in the aluminum head. I was also told it would cost me $900 to change the plugs out and if they could not get them out without stripping the threads it would cost me $3000 to replace the heads. If this is true, boy you talk about a major engineering flaw on Ford's part. This is ludicrous. I want to know if this is true, and if so, is Ford going to stand behind this major blunder ??? The dealership told me they would not stand behind it. If all this is true I will trade off both of my 08 F-150's and get a Toyota Tundra. I think Ford has just shot themselves in the foot when it come to their recovery frosm this bad economy.
