Disappearing text...

While typing on my computer, sometimes I edit, and want to add a few words or sentence/s... what causes my inserted text to type "over" text, so it disappears under the new typing?

The wide key at the bottom of your keypad should be pressed. It is a toggle key. Press it once and it will be insert mode (that is what you want). That key on your keypad is NOT in Insert mode and should be presswed
