Usually cats hiss out of fear. Would your cat have a reason to be fearful of you?

Keeping In Touch.

K.I.T.

There are several reasons why your cat would be hissing at you and your wife. I would be asking you, how long have you had your cat and is this a recent activity or has it been going on for a while? Either they don't like a particlar smell or they have been hurt.

I have 2 cats. JJ just does not like to be disturbed, he is a big ginger tom and loves his comfort, he loathes anyone who would disturb that comfort.

Missy is a petite white tortoishelle as dainty as they come. For the most part, I am ok, but if I wear a particular perfume, I cannot get anywhere near her.

Look at your personal hygene, is you cat sensitive to deodorants, colognes, perfumes, anything particular to yourself and your husband that is not used by the children/teenagers? Have you tried approaching the cats after a shower, before dressing, (just the smell of yourself and water and towel)?

Other questions would be, do you or your husband Bath the cat? Has the cat slept on your bed and someone rolled on him or kicked him in their sleep, or just simply taken his favourite sleeping spot?

The way around this as always with cats, is his favourite food. If it is colognes or deodorant that he is reacting to, spend some time with him after you have had a shower (no personal hygene products) If he comes around immediately and starts to sniff you usually before the food, then you have one possible answer.

Keep trying with the food, if it is not personal hygene products, food can still be a way around his behavoir.

Good luck.
