Is Desjardins dropping out of Council race?

Has anyone heard if Mr. Desjardins going to show up for the debate? I was told today he may be dropping out of the Ward 2 City Council race. Desjardins is being investigated for two counts of larceny. Eye witnesses have been interviewed essentially stating they saw Mr. Desjardins and another man steal two Mayor Morris and two Councilman Baxter campaign lawn signs from a Ward 2 private residence. Mr. Desjardins and the unidentified man then placed the signs in the back of Desjardin's grey pickup truck, and subsequently drove south bound on Arrowhead. Ironically, the eye witnesses were reading a Desjardins political mailer that had a large colored photo of Mr. Desjardins on it, making a positive ID rather easy. In addition, Desjardin's truck was in the drive way of his own Campaign Headquarters. The theft was also caught on two surveillance cameras; the footage has been booked into evidence by the SBPD. Mayor Morris and Councilman Baxter have both requested a police investigation and criminal prosecution of Mr. Desjardins. Sources close to the story expect an arrest of Mr. Desjardins to be eminent.
