Dealing with thoughtlessness

The manager of my daughter's U13 soccer team (13 year olds) asked for suggestions for an end of year party. I offered my house, swimming pool and also said I would provide hot dogs and drinks if everyone else would bring a side dish. The party was to be after their game on Saturday which was originally scheduled for 11am. The schedule changed and the game was moved to 6:30pm. I wrote everyone that we could still have the party at my house, since I already had the hotdogs and fixings, but would have to keep it short since the girls had another game at 8:00 am in the morning. Should I be offended that one of the other mothers wrote everyone back that she wants to do the party Sunday night instead of Saturday. I am the host, the one who is opening my house for the party-

That is a little offensive.  She should have been more considerate and just wrote you back and discussed it with you about doing it a different night since there was another game the next morning.

Robin,  Sure you can be offended and then get bitter and mad and harbor bad feelings for anyone that went to the other persons party.  Or you could have called the other person and offer the hotdogs and other items you purchased and ask if she wants your help for the party.  Don't forget the target of the event is the 13 year old girsl, it's not about you or your feelings.  You're a mature person that's had your feelings hurt before and it didn't kill you.
