On my DD Form 214 under the remarks section There is a number that goes as follows SER#: 43104-09-0423-SCP Then it says Member contributed to the montgomery G.I. Bill. I was wondering wat the number means.

Your state's Veteran's Representative (Service organizations or state employees, such as Disabled Veterans of America, VFW or State Dept. of Veterans Affair can give you the precise answer, but it general this means that you signed up for an Education Donation above and beyond the one provided for you by completing your original Military contract (2, 4 or 6 years active duty). The serial number usually describe a document number on file with the military, so when you go to a college or trade school, it will relay to the financial aid department there how much the total available is, and therefore how much will be paid out every month, for how many months.
