Crying for attention

What do you do with a 7 month old baby that requires constant attention? She starts crying as soon as you stop doing whatever you are doing that entertains her. You can stop and start the crying by starting and stopping the entertainment. I sat with her one day for about ½ an hour so I decided to test her and see what would happen. As soon as I saw her make a face like she was about to cry, I started making silly sounds and she would not let the cry out. I did it over and over and she would start and stop over and over. Even if she was just fed and changed. If you are holding her you still have to keep her entertained or she’ll cry. She will also stare at you with her eyes and mouth wide open like she’s waiting for you to say something. What could be going on there? P.S., She's not my child and she's like this with everyone.

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

Invest in a sling. Wear it. Use it. It works.

Good for babies of all ages and allows you to have two hands free.

(If you don't want to buy one, there are books which show you how to make your own.)

She was close to you for 9 months or so and now you want her to detach from you?  It is not that easy.  She is use to your sound, movement, moods, etc. and she is not ready or capable of releasing you.  At this time in her little life, it is all about her.  You have an unique bond with her and you can't just break it at the moment.  When she sleeps, you should be sleeping as well to get your rest.  Take it from me, you can not go without appropriate sleep and expect to be able to give her your all.  Be bless and much success.

I had this similar problem, I can relate to your frustration.. I started weening my lil one when I put him down, I would put him in his play pen where I could sit with him, and then I would continue to pat his bottom.  If you place your little one on their side they can see you.  The weening time took about 3 weeks, but it was worth it as I could do things around the house.

Good luck!

Mr.Jqna,  I can't help you much with this, as I was never able to have kids.  I think you may just have to hold her and make silly sounds until she is 18 years old.  Good Luck.

She sounds intelligent.  She controls everyone's behavior that interacts with her.  I bet she figured it out.  If I cry, they stay and play.  Like conditioning an animal to bark when you snap your fingers for a treat.  Her treat is continued entertainment.  Eventually, someone will have to teach her that she can't have what she wants by using that method.  Just be glad she isn't yours!!
