smile,be happy no matter what life throws at you.God only gives what you can handle. 

i know this might sound a little silly, but on the white walls ,if you don't want to paint them add bright colorful pictures or accent the walls with large decortive rugs, on the metal shelves find some wood that can fit them and paint the wood or stain them, until you get some kitchen cuboards,try going to walmart or home depot and get the storage closets that come in all sizes and shapes. for your curtains, use colored sheers, they still let in alot of light. be creative. have fun play with colors,good luck
